Left Brain

My left brain thrives on puzzles and seeks out solutions with clear-cut answers. It’s the part of me that is always organizing my designs in a structured and systematic manner, providing a methodical approach to my creative process. Like a bolt of lightning, it illuminates the path forward, ensuring that every element of my designs strikes with clarity and precision.

Right Brain

On the opposing side, my right brain embodies boundless creativity and uninhibited expression. It's the part of me that thrives in the realm of the unexpected and embraces chaos. I'm usually brainstorming with this side of my brain, especially when I'm immersed in music or surrounded by the energy of friends. Spontaneity is where most of my imaginative sparks ignite.

Step into my mind

The very first step in my ideation phase is mind mapping. It allows me to take the chaotic sparks of ideas out of my mind and onto paper. Once it is written I can jump to the next idea.

Mindmapping

After mindmapping, my mind is flooded with pictures and images of possible design directions. In this stage, I doodle anywhere there is space on my sketchbook till an idea strikes me like lightning.

Braindumping

After the initial sparks of ideas have traversed through my mind and onto paper, I can begin the design process. At this stage, I prefer to select the brightest ideas from the preceding phases and merge them with rhetoric or symbolism. It is during this phase that my concepts go from a small spark to a lighting bolt of an idea.

Thumbnailing

In order to start sketching, I need to have a clear visual direction in mind. This is where moodboarding comes in handy, as it helps me narrow down the aesthetic I'm aiming for. It also allows you, as the client, to approve the style or “mood” of the design before I even put pencil to paper.

Moodboarding

I was born in Long Island, New York, but I've lived most of my life in Jacksonville, Florida. I pursue graphic design because I constantly visualize striking concepts in my mind. For fun, I play a lot of Dungeons and Dragons and read fantasy novels. I discovered that the extensive lore in these magical stories triggers new ideas for my graphic design projects.
